Secure And Confidential With new HIPAA requirements and with the electronic transfer of sensitive patient information imminent, security is a top priority at Medescribe. Medescribe utilizes the latest Virtual Private Network (VPN) security solutions to link medical transcriptionists, Medescribe's internal systems, hospitals, and physician practices securely. Medescribe adds additional levels of security by providing Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connections and digital certificate authentication to our web site for document retrieval, and an encrypted e-mail solution that uses a 607-bit encryption algorithm for those users that prefer email delivery. The combination of these solutions creates private, encrypted connections through the Internet for secure transfer of confidential patient data.
Schematic Representation of Medescribe’s Dictation System TelePhone Dictation, Pocket PCs, and Digital Hand Held Recorders Medescribe gives you a high degree of flexibility in choosing the best dictation method for your specific needs. Medescribe accepts telephone dictation from any analog or digital phone line. This means that a physician can dictate into Medescribe from any telephone, 24 hours a day, seven days a week! Medescribe also accepts audio files from any Windows CE device (Pocket PC) or digital hand held recorder that supports a wav file format. We provide the security tools necessary to transfer audio dictation from a physician's PC to Medescribe's dictation systems, which includes Medescribe's Virtual Private Network (VPN) and encrypted email.
Delivery Options Medescribe offers one of the most flexible delivery packages in the industry. Our clients can choose from a variety of electronic document delivery options including document retrieval through our web interface, e-mail, scheduled batch e-mail, on-site printing, FTP, and HL7 output (requires customization). Please contact Medescribe's courteous implementation staff at sales@medescribe.com to discuss which option is best for you. Interfaces Medescribe will accept a bi-directional health level 7 (HL7) interface for patient registration data, and we can return HL7 output to your internal database. Most of our clients find the initial cost of programming a patient registration interface well worth the investment. An interface will allow Medescribe to create an account in our master patient index (MPI) unique to your data. We will work with your information systems support staff to create an interface between your patient registration data and the Medescribe MPI. Medescribe will automatically download any pertinent patient information that you need in your reports. This is an efficient and virtually error-free way to use patient demographic information where it is needed! Copyright
